The LWLTC course is a free six-week programme, which is delivered one day a week for 2.5 hours. It aims to support people with a long- term health or medical condition, to maintain their health and improve their quality of life. The programme covers various topics such as: dealing with pain, fatigue, stress and depression.
One of the core benefits of the course is that it provides a forum to meet with others and share experiences.
The volunteer tutors all have long-term conditions themselves, have attended the course, and, because they have benefited from it, have then volunteered to tutor the course.
To be eligible for the course, the individual must be a Derbyshire County resident, live with a long-term condition or be a carer of someone living with a long-term condition.
If you are referring on behalf of someone else as a professional, we will need a completed referral form with permission from the individual.
Alternatively, where appropriate, individuals are able to self-refer for the course either by completing a referral form or calling on 07487 257187.
